Our Menu

Leading up to the passing of Prohibition, many of the great US wineries of the time needed to sell off stocks of around 50 million gallons of wine.

The public needed to stock up on wine and a total of 141 million bottles were sold in the 3 months before the law went into effect.

Despite the passing of the law, there were a few loopholes that made it possible to still have wine and few wineries stayed open by producing sacramental wine for Catholic services.

By 1924, government officials were highly suspicious of sacramental wine and pulled many permits due to the rampant growth to nearly a million gallons in just 2 short years.

Some of these great California wineries are still in operation today and we have featured some of their wines on our menu (***).

Also, since many Americans (including famous figures like Ernest Hemingway) headed to France in droves during Prohibition in order to imbibe, we have also chosen to feature wines of France.
